Dr Martin Freese practised as a general practitioner for more than 30 years in Klerksdorp before joining Intercare. He has a particular interest in dermatology, infectious diseases, surgery, geriatrics, children's, and men's health. Dr Freese enjoys playing tennis and golf and is also a keen runner.

Dr Gretha de Beer graduated from the University of Pretoria in 2019 (Cum Laude). She started her medical career as a nurse in 2002 and has practised in the private and public sectors for more than ten years. Dr de Beer is passionate about family medicine and has a soft spot for the elderly. She is also particularly interested in women’s health and diabetes, and enjoys nature and spending time with her husband and two daughters in her spare time.

Dr Damian du Toit (MBChB) graduated from the University of Pretoria in 2018. He has experience in primary and emergency medicine with advanced diplomas in acute cardiac, paediatric and trauma care. He has a particular interest in men's health, mental health, and the holistic management of chronic conditions. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, hiking and camping.

Dr Wiek Labuschagne (MBChB) graduated from the University of Pretoria in 1987 and obtained a postgraduate master's degree in Family Medicine (MMed) in 2001. He is particularly interested in family medicine and the holistic approach to chronic conditions like diabetes. He enjoys hiking and spending time with family and friends in his spare time.

Dr Louise Dreyer (MBChB) graduated from the University of the Free State in 2011. She also received cum laude for her medical degree and was awarded the best medical student of her year. Dr Aleatia Burger qualified (MB ChB) in 1997 from the University of Stellenbosch. In 2018, she obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Diabetes with distinction from the University of South Wales. Her interests include diabetes, preventative medicine, chronic disease management, children's health, men's health, and women’s health. Dr Burger is a nature lover, food and wine enthusiast and avid scuba diver. She shares her adventures with her husband and children.

Dr Marlene Ebersohn obtained the MBChB degree with distinction from the University of Pretoria in 2012. She also completed a B.Sc Dietetics degree with distinction at the North-West University in 2004. She has a particular interest in children’s health and diabetes. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two girls.

Dr Lelanie van Zyl received her medical degree in 1994 from the University of Pretoria. She also completed a post-graduate Diploma in Sedation and Pain Management. She has a particular interest in family medicine, female health, mental health and pain management, but her passion is sports medicine.

Dr Simone Swanepoel graduated from the University of Pretoria (MBChB in 2016), obtaining 22 distinctions during her studies. Whilst on a swimming scholarship in the United States, she graduated Magna Cum Laude with her degree in Biochemistry BSc(Hons). Dr Swanepoel wants to apply the experience and qualifications she obtained in the USA and South Africa to diagnose and treat her patients with acute and chronic conditions. Dr Swanepoel has a particular interest in geriatric health, children's health and mental health. As a former Springbok swimmer, she still enjoys swimming and cross-training in her free time.

Dr Suzelle de Jager graduated from the University of Pretoria. She recently completed a diploma in emergency medicine and has done multiple life support courses. Dr De Jager is particularly interested in paediatrics, mental health and women’s health. She enjoys birding, reading, learning new languages, and yoga, among her many hobbies.

Dr Lisa Lovell graduated from the University of Pretoria. She then relocated to KZN, where she mostly worked in paediatrics, before moving back to Pretoria. She works part-time at a hospice and is passionate about palliative care. Dr Lovell is also interested in geriatrics, children's and women's health. She enjoys keeping fit and spending time with her husband and two daughters.

Dr Lourens Viljoen earned his MBChB from the University of Pretoria in 2007. In 2011, he relocated to Canada, where he practised for over a decade across a broad spectrum of medical disciplines, including primary care, hospital medicine, obstetrics, geriatrics, and palliative care. In 2015, he received Certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP) and was appointed as a Clinical Instructor at the University of British Columbia, where he trained Family Practice Residents in both Obstetrics and Family Medicine. In 2022, Dr Viljoen returned to South Africa, where he now focuses on providing compassionate, patient-centred care. Outside of his medical practice, Dr Viljoen is an avid runner and cherishes time with his wife and their five children.
