CELEBRATING WORLD HEALTH DAY

This year marks the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the observance of World Health Day, being celebrated on the 7th of April.  This special awareness day was established by the first World Health Assembly, the governing body of the World Health Organization (WHO).  During this year, the International Year of the Nurse and Midwife, the WHO will highlight the current status of nursing around the world.

7 April 2020 is the day to celebrate the work of nurses and midwives and remind everyone of the critical role they play in keeping the world healthy.  Nurses and other healthcare workers are, amongst others, at the forefront of COVID-19 response – providing high quality, respectful treatment and care, leading community dialogue to address fears and questions and, in some instances, collecting data for clinical studies.

At Intercare we recognise nursing staff and other healthcare workers as a vital resource for health.  We understand the challenges that the nursing staff and other healthcare workers are faced with and we’re deeply appreciative of their hard work, dedication and compassionate care towards our patients.
