What are we doing to protect your health?

Screening

•    Screening all staff and healthcare professionals for symptoms at the beginning and end of their shifts. Anyone who develops symptoms are immediately tested and sent home.

•    All patients are asked to report any symptoms or known exposure to COVID-19 before arrival at the facility or immediately before an appointment.

Facility disinfection protocols

•    General areas are cleaned multiple times per day using hospital-grade protocols.

•    High contact surfaces in doctors’ rooms, i.e. beds, equipment, doorknobs and armrests of chairs, are cleaned multiple times per day. All toys, magazines, coffee machines and brochures have been removed from the facilities.

Infection control measures

•    Patients and visitors must wear masks before entering the practice. The use of cellphones is discouraged.

•    Screens at reception desks protect you and our staff.

•    All staff wear face masks and other personal protective equipment, as prescribed by the WHO.

•    Where possible, designated waiting areas are reserved for those with COVID-19 symptoms.

•    Isolation rooms have been set up in each facility for patients at a high risk of having COVID-19.

Alternative access options

Intercare has launched a virtual consultation service to safely interact with patients with high-risk symptoms and to reduce the exposure risk for those seeking care for chronic conditions, repeat scripts and minor health concerns.

How can you protect yourself and others while you are here?

   Wear a face mask at all times and ensure its properly fitted. Do not take it off when talking or coughing. 

•    Immediately report any known symptoms or contact with someone suspected of having COVID-19.

•    Make regular use of the hand sanitisers, available throughout the practice.

•    Practice good respiratory etiquette by facing away from others when coughing or sneezing and doing so into your flexed elbow.  

•    Maintain 1.5m from staff and other patients, including when reporting to reception and when seated in waiting rooms.

•    Maintain one seat space between you and other patients in the waiting room, and use chairs facing away from each other if possible.
