Dr Desmond Benkenstein graduated from the University of Stellenbosch. He worked in the Tygerberg and Frere hospitals for two years, and then in private practice in Walvisbay for thirteen years. He spent a year in Canada before relocating to George. In his spare time, Dr Benkenstein enjoys gardening and fishing.

In 2020 she relocated to Intercare Blaauwberg. As a mother of two busy boys, Dr Lombard is passionate about paediatrics and the medical management of young families. She takes the time to educate patients about their specific conditions and how to manage them, as she believes understanding one's condition is crucial to managing it better. She enjoys being active, baking and quality time with her family.
