Dr Desmond Benkenstein

Dr Desmond Benkenstein graduated from the University of Stellenbosch. He worked in the Tygerberg and Frere hospitals for two years, and then in private practice in Walvisbay for thirteen years. He spent a year in Canada before relocating to George. In his spare time, Dr Benkenstein enjoys gardening and fishing.

Dr Louise Dreyer (MBChB) graduated from the University of the Free State in 2011. She also received cum laude for her medical degree and was awarded the best medical student of her year. Since then she has developed a special interest in paediatrics and the management of diabetes mellitus.

Dr. Carryn Peters graduated from the University of Cape Town in 2010. She has a special interest in aesthetic medicine, emergency medicine, and surgical procedures. She has a diploma in Emergency Medicine as well as a certificate in Aesthetic Medicine from the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine.

Dr Marie Coetzee

Dr Coetzee obtained the MBChB degree at the University of Pretoria and the Dip PEC(SA) at the Colleges of Medicine SA. She holds a master’s degree in diabetes from the University of South Wales (UK) and has completed numerous other courses, including Advanced Life Support. She has extensive experience as a flight doctor and worked in several trauma units and diabetes clinics. Dr Coetzee has a particular interest in diabetes, obesity, emergency medicine, and chronic illness care. She enjoys reading in her free time.

Dr Danique Kruger

Dr Danique Kruger obtained the MBChB degree in 2015 at the University of Pretoria. She is a family-orientated medical practitioner and enjoys all aspects of general medicine, with a passion for paediatrics and women's and sexual health. In addition, Dr Kruger enjoys performing minor procedures under local anaesthesia. She loves spending her free time with her family and reading.

Dr Dirk Odendaal completed the MBChB at the University of the Free State in 2013. In 2021 he completed a postgraduate diploma in occupational medicine from the University of Stellenbosch, enabling him to perform occupational health assessments. He also holds registration with the Irish Medical Council and is an associate member of the CDE and SA HIV Clinicians Society. Dr Odendaal enjoys all aspects of family medicine and has a keen interest in diabetes and mental health. Besides work, he enjoys hiking, running, and traveling with his wife.

Dr Wilmari Giliomee qualified (MBChB) from the University of Stellenbosch. In addition, she obtained degrees in BSc Human Life Science and Psychology. Dr Thea Taillard earned her degree from the University of Pretoria and has over 20 years of experience in both government and private healthcare sectors in Canada and South Africa. During the Covid pandemic she was part of a hospital management team where she was impressed and inspired by the resilience and expertise of healthcare professionals. Stepping back from management she is now ready to further serve the community as a GP in private healthcare.
