Neurosurgery

A facet or facet joint block is a spinal injection of an anaesthetic and corticosteroid into one or more facet joints. The anaesthetic provides temporary pain relief.
Infiltration anaesthesia is accomplished by administering the local anaesthetic solution intradermally (ID), subcutaneously (SC), or submucosally across the nerve path that supplies the area of the body that requires anaesthesia.
Rhizotomy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure to remove sensation from a painful nerve by killing nerve fibres that send pain signals to the brain.
