This is an appointment scheduled in advance. Usually, these are follow-up visits with your preferred Intercare doctor. It is a convenient way to get quality medical advice and treatment without making a trip to the consulting rooms.
Book NowIntercare aims to ensure continuity of care by offering follow-up online consultations with the same doctor who conducted your in-person consultation.
Schedule an online consultation with your doctor.
Online consultations are not available at this facility yet. Schedule an in-practice consultation with your doctor instead.
Here’s what our patients say about this service.
“
Virtual consultations are by far the best way to go nowadays, especially if your GP knows you well.
“
This is a great service. It took 6 minutes. Highly recommend for smaller issues and needs.
“
Intercare really make my life so much easier. Thanks to you all. And a special thanks to Dr Karli for being so helpful.
“
I was quite happy with the process from booking and the actual consultation with Dr Ntsako
While online consultations are helpful, online consultations are only available for existing Intercare patients and are not suitable for all health conditions. Patient safety is a priority, and the doctor may request a physical examination.
If you are experiencing technical issues connecting to your online consultation, please call 012 884 4800 for assistance. If you need assistance booking your appointment or have other questions about your consultation, please contact your preferred Intercare facility with your query.
Once booked, you will receive a confirmation email and SMS with a link to join the online consultation. These consultations have limitations and do not replace in-practice consultations and examinations but offer an alternative for minor illnesses, or if the patient is unsure if an in-practice consultation is required. Patients may be requested to follow up with a physical in-practice consultation based on the clinical discretion of the attending doctor following an online consultation. Patient safety is a priority and may warrant the attending doctor to collect more clinical data through a physical examination to formulate valid diagnoses and appropriate treatment plans for the patient’s current presenting problem.
A claim will be submitted to most medical schemes for online consultation. Coverage cannot be guaranteed; the patient will remain responsible for the account.
To join the consultation, you need a computer, tablet, or smartphone with a camera, microphone, and internet connection. The Apple Safari web browser is recommended for iOS devices (iPhone/iPad). We recommend the Google Chrome web browser for Android, Windows, and MacOS devices.
Depending on the healthcare issue, an online consultation typically lasts between 10 and 15 minutes.
All Intercare facilities, pending availability, offer online consultations during the practice's standard operating hours, which can be found on the Intercare website. Search your preferred doctor and view available timeslots via HealthBeat.
Repeat scripts for many medications can be provided via an online consultation, provided that the medication was previously scripted by your Intercare doctor. Regular physical examinations to assess for complications of chronic medical conditions are important.
Rates for online consultations are lower than rates for in-practice visits. The actual rate is determined by the benefits of your medical scheme and if a script is required. Contact your preferred facility for more information.
